personnel at benghazi airport. now, the associated press talked to a doctor who claimed to have treated ambassador stevens. we are going to show you now a picture of him when he was apparently unconscious in the consulate compound. turn away if you are slightly squeamish, this is a picture of ambassador stevens. we're putting it up right now. we have shown that to some of our medical a team here. they say it is not -- looking at him there, it's not inconsistent with the libyan doctor's claims that he died from severe smoke inhalation but the same time it's not definitive. and you can also clearly see a significant looking gash on ambassador stevens' head there whatever the cause of death, he died doing a job he loved. as is hauntingly obvious when you look back now at a state department announced video announcing his appointment as ambassador to libya. look at this. >> my name is chris stevens, and i'm the new u.s. ambassador to libya. i had the honor to serve as the u.s. envoy to the libyan opposition during the r
